Lice Clinics of America Opens New Treatment Center in Longview for Parents

Clinic provides guaranteed, one-and-done lice treatments using FDA-cleared medical device

Longview, Texas

Head lice infamously cause stress, disgust, and embarrassment for millions of parents whose kids get infested each year. Fortunately, parents in Longview no longer have to worry about treating the bugs themselves thanks to the opening of a new clinic, Lice Clinics of America.

Lice Clinics of America – Longview (https://www.liceclinicseasttexas.com) provides screening, diagnosis and treatment options for people infested with head lice. The clinic is staffed by certified operators of the AirAllé device, an FDA-cleared medical device that kills head lice and lice eggs using just heated air. In clinical trials, the AirAllé was found to kill live lice and more than 99 percent of eggs (nits). Most treatments take about an hour and are guaranteed to be effective.

This is the third clinic of owners Matt and Heather Smith. They opened their first clinic in Lufkin in 2016, and a second clinic in Tyler in 2017.

Last year Texas passed Senate Bill 1566, a law that requires schools to notify all students in a classroom where a child has been found to have lice. “More and more families are seeking treatment and finding out about our one-and-done cure for head lice, and we’re expanding again to meet demand,” Heather said.

Then there is the issue of “super lice.” Head lice have become difficult to treat with traditional products because the lice have become immune to the chemical pesticides that the products use. The most recent study in the Journal of Medical Entomology found that 98 percent of so-called super lice in most U.S. states are resistant to their active ingredients. The pesticides used in traditional lice products have also been linked to developmental and behavioral problems in children.

“Super lice are no problem for us because we don’t use pesticides at all,” Heather said. “The AirAllé has successfully treated more than 750,000 cases of head lice, including super lice, with a success rate better than 99 percent.”

The Longview clinic is located at 102 Commander Drive, Suite 5, and is open seven days per week by appointment. AirAllé treatments take about an hour and come with a 14-day guarantee when all family members are treated or screened for head lice.

With more than 350 clinics in 36 countries, Lice Clinics of America (www.LiceClinicsOfAmerica.com) is the largest network of professional head lice treatment centers in the world. Lice Clinics of America and AirAllé (www.airalle.com) are brands owned by Larada Sciences™, Inc., which is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah.
